3 Tips to Make Your Parent’s 50th Wedding Anniversary Special

Making it to 50 years of marriage is a huge achievement and is something that should be celebrated. If you are planning to have a party for your parent's 50th wedding anniversary, there are many things you can do to make this a special day for them, three of which are listed below.

Hire a Limo Service

Get your parents to the party venue in style by hiring a limo service to pick them up. The limo driver will knock on the door, escort them to the limo, and open the car door for them as they enter the car. You could ask the limo-service company if you can decorate the inside of the limo. Most companies will allow you to do this as long as you will not make any permanent changes to the limo.

You could play music from their younger years that they liked, or you could play a video of their life if you have something like this. They will enjoy watching this as they travel to their destination. Include some sparkling wine if your parents drink alcohol.

Make a Memory Book

A memory book will be something your parents will cherish. This could be anything that you want, but you should include things like pictures of your parents when they were young, on their wedding day, and in their first house as well as pictures of you and your siblings as you were growing up. In the memory book, include their favorite sayings, their favorite song lyrics, or a few loving messages written by family members. If you have letters your parents wrote to each other when they were younger, include these.

You can purchase a photo album or scrapbook to make the memory book yourself. There are also companies that will help you create the perfect book if you do not want to do this on your own. No matter what you choose, make the cover extra special. You could do this by putting your parents' picture on the cover along with the date they were married.

Play a DVD

Gather together some photos of your parents in their younger years up to that day and have them play on a slide across a television screen. Everyone at the party will enjoy seeing these photos of your parents. One of the easiest ways to do this is to put all the photos on a SD card and put the card into an SD port on the television. Most current televisions today have a SD port. If you do not have some of the photos on your computer or on a camera, you can scan the pictures to put on the card.

These are just three ways you can make your parents' day special. Get together with other family members to come up with some other things.
